UNESCO has designated nine sites in Ethiopia as World Legacy Sites, the most of any African country. These sites showcase Ethiopia's rich cultural heritage, long history, and impressive biodiversity. The fourth-holiest Islamic city globally and the oldest continuously occupied town south of the Sahara are located inside its limits.
